Hardy Rose Collection

At Cider Hill, we grow only hardy roses—varieties that are bred to bloom in zones 4, 3 or 2. We carry species of Old Garden roses, (existed before 1867), Modern Roses (classes of roses after 1867), and are always searching for hardy David Austin roses, classified as an English Modern Shrub. To date, we have two that have done well over the last five years; the Alexandra Rose and Golden Celebration.

Because the weather is always unpredictable, growing roses in northern New England never carries a guarantee. We invite you to see the roses at Cider Hill, and select plants for your own garden. We are always available to give out cultural information to help you succeed in growing hardy rose varieties.

Hardy roses bloom in the summer and prefer full sun. Below is a the partial list of plants you will find at Cider Hill, divided by type, to help you determine the best rose for your garden.

Please note: We have more plants than we can list and not all plants are available at all times.
