Greetings from Gary & Sarah Milek

The buzz this year is Edible Landscapes—meaning flowers in the vegetable garden and vegetables in the flower gardens and containers!  It’s practical, beautiful and fun. When flowers and edibles are combined you can have beauty and eat it too, while conserving on space and effort. There are many vegetables that are both beautiful and edible, lending themselves to the landscape.

Plants are good for us, and this is not a glib statement. Surrounding ourselves with plants indoors and out, caring for them and being in nature can improve our mood, concentration, attitude, productivity, and overall wellbeing according to a lecture given by Dr. Charlie Hall at Texas A&M University.

Our goal this year at Cider Hill Gardens is to entice you to surround yourself with plants, encourage you to try some edible landscaping by offering unusual edible plants, and help you to garden successfully and happily.

In addition to unusual perennials and herbs we also carry:

Products to discourage deer, slugs, groundhogs, squirrels and voles.
Fertilizers, pest management and non-chemical herbicide.
VEGETABLE and HERB SEEDLINGS, on sale as long as they last.
White cedar raised beds in three sizes—ideal for vegetable gardening!
We also accept our pots back to wash and use again.

We’re easy to find! Cider Hill is 2-1/2 miles from the traffic light in the center of Windsor, where you turn onto State Street. At the end of State Street, continue up the hill to Hunt Road—do not bear right toward the hospital.

When you think you’ve gone too far, you’re almost there! Look for our sign on the left.
